Who is your favorite female character on a TV show that is on right now?
Yeesh. I, uh…can I admit something? I don’t watch TV regularly. I’m sure Johanna (person who asked these questions) wanted me to have an informed opinion about Girls or something, but I haven’t actually seen it. Nor have I seen a new or recent episode of any show in the past two months.
Can you settle for favorite female character in general? Cause I’ve got a weird answer for that. I’d go for Captain Janeway from Star Trek Voyager. I used to watch that show when I got home from school, and I gotta say, Janeway was a bad ass. She had a feminine touch, but she didn’t put up with bullshit and she ran that mother. She was classy and thoughtful without being submissive. Had her own agenda. I was into it. Also, close runner-up: Lucille Bluth.
If you could host a party with any one celebrity, who would it be?
Colton Haynes because his face. More seriously, Joss Whedon because I’d love to have a conversation with him, or Chris Kelly (relatively new hire to the SNL writing staff; maybe not crazy famous but he’s a celebrity in my book) because he’s kind of my hero and stuff or whatever.
If you were a Doctor Who companion, who would be the historical celebrity guest of your first adventure episode and what kind of nefarious monsters would they be involved with? (Ex. for non-fans: “Mother Teresa is secretly a succubus”.)

Just kidding, but I’ve never bothered to watch an episode because I’d either hate it and by extension hate 45% of tumblr, or I’d get sucked in and I don’t have time for that. So I guess I’d be the 1998 Secretary of the Interior who’s secretly an animorph? Did I do that right?

I guess Scary Spice because the concept of a woman naming herself ‘Scary Spice’ and being taken seriously for any length of time greatly amuses me. I didn’t have a childhood, I was hatched from a tube.
If the cake were not a lie, what kind of cake would it be?
Dark chocolate layer cake with thick chocolate buttercream frosting and mousse filling. (Anyone ever realize how similar mouse and mousse are?)
What is the deal with Taylor Swift?
She doesn’t wear short skirts and she sits on the bleachers, and therefore she is better than anyone you’ve ever made out with because America.
What is your favorite name? Why?
I’m a huge fan of my name, Matt Grote. It’s generally memorable. You can say it as one word. Both parts are monosyllabic. My first name is generic enough to guess it correctly, my last name is uncommon enough that it’ll probably stick. It’s got a lot of t’s in it.
For a character, though, I like these names: Linda Err, Harry Lebowitz, Jon Harzen, Judah Klipper, Yola Odo. There are precisely zero reasons I like these names.
If you could be really, really good at singing one song and one song only, to the point that for the rest of your life your fans riot when you don’t turn up at karaoke night, what song would you pick?
“Lo, How a Rose ‘Ere Blooming” by John Rutter. It is beautiful and contains zero rock and roll, so HA! to your karaoke plot.
